Outlook 365 Mail Setup

Before you start, you need to set up an email account within the control panel (if you have not done so already). Please see our instructions for this here.

On your PC, please load the Outlook 365 software and do the following (and replace domain-name-here.co.uk with your own domain)...

  1. On the top menu bar, click "File".
  2. Click the "+ Add Account" button.
  3. Enter the email address, click "Advanced Options" and tick the box for "Let me set up my Account manually" then click the "Connect" button.
  4. Select POP
  5. For the incoming server, enter mail.<your-domain> (for example, mail.domain-name-here.co.uk) OR enter the one provided in the settings we've given you (for example, merry.visn.co.uk). Set the port number to 995 and tick the box for "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS). If you've wishing to use IMAP, then the port number to enter is 993. DO NOT tick the box for "Require Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
  6. For the outgoing server, enter the same one you've entered for the incoming server. Set the port number to 587 and the Encryption method to STARTTLS
  7. Click next, enter the password and you're done.

Modifying the settings

  1. On the top menu bar, click "File".
  2. In the dropdown box at the top (immediately under "Account Information", choose the account you wish to edit.
  3. Click "Account Settings" and choose the "Server Settings" option. A window will appear showing the POP Account Settings for your email account.
  4. Make sure that the User Name is set to your email address (mail account). Tick "Remember Password.
  5. The server should be set to mail.<your-domain> (for example, mail.domain-name-here.co.uk) and the port number set to 995 for POP3 (993 for IMAP).
  6. Tick the box for "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS)."
  7. Make sure there is no tick for "Require Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
  8. Click the link for "Outgoing mail" and the window will now show a different set of details.
  9. Server should be set to mail.<your-domain> (for example, mail.domain-name-here.co.uk) with the port set to 587.
  10. Set the Encryption method to STARTTLS.
  11. Tick "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication and select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  12. Click the NEXT button and you're done.
