Gmail Setup

If you wish to link your Gmail account so that it reads emails from your email account with Vision Internet, you should follow the instructions below (and replace domain-name-here.co.uk with your own domain)...

If you've not already done so, set up an email account on our server first using the control panel. Please see our instructions for this here.

Log into your Gmail account and click the settings cog towards the top-right of the browser window then select 'Settings'.
Click the button for "See all settings" then select the 'Accounts and Import' option. From the list, look for 'Check email from other accounts' and select 'Add an email account'.

 

A new window opens and requests the email address you're wishing to add. Enter that and click the 'Next' button.

 

Select 'import emails from my other account (POP3) and click the 'Next' button.

 

Enter the username for your email account with ourselves along with the password. The POP server should be the server name from your instructions and the port number should be 995. Select 'Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail' and click the 'Add Account' button.

 

You will see a confirmation to say that your mail account has been added. Select the option to send emails and click the 'Next' button.

 

Enter your name and click 'Next Step'.

 

Enter the SMTP Server with the name of our server from your instructions. The Username for the mailbox and the password also need to be entered. The port number should be 587 and you should select the 'TLS' connection, then click 'Add Account'.

 

 

Check your GMAIL account for the new email you've been sent containing the confirmation code and click the 'Verify' button. This will complete the setup.

 

IMPORTANT: You MUST reload the Gmail page so that when you're composing a new email, you're given the choice of which address you're sending from.
