Setting your default email address

Mail button
Any email that is sent to an unknown account at your domain name, such as unknown@domain-name-here.co.uk, gets automatically re-routed to your default email account. The default email account is disabled by default.

Please note that we do not recommend the use of the default (catchall) account. The reason for this is that a great deal of junk email (spam) is sent to random addresses in the hope that some will get through. This problem can easily result in the account becoming swamped with junk and rendered completely useless. If the default account is disabled and your domain becomes targetted by such emails, our server will detect this and block the spammer.

To set your default email address:

  1. Log into the control panel.
  2. Click on the Default Address icon from the main page.
  3. Click on the Forward to email address button.
  4. Enter either your username to forward the default emails to or an email address. Please note that we don't recommend forwarding emails to an external email address. You could find your account suspended for sending spam if we receive complaints regarding spam being forwarded from your account.
