Android email Setup

Before you start, you need to set up an email account within the control panel. Please see our instructions for this here.

On your Android, please do the following (and replace domain-name-here.co.uk with your own domain)...

  1. Click the Email icon on the main menu.

  2. If this is the first email account you're adding, you will be prompted to add a new account. If you already have an email account created, click Options followed by Accounts to create a new account.

  3. Type in your Email address and Password then click Next to continue.

  4. Select IMAP account or POP3 account depending upon the type you wish to use. We recommend using IMAP on mobile devices as it doesn't require the downloading of your email contents.

  5. Fill in your details e.g...
User name: bob@domain-name-here.co.uk     --- Enter your own email address here.
    Password: ********
IMAP server: mail.<YOUR-SITE-NAME>      --- please check this from your instructions
    Port: 143
Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
    Click Next

  6. Fill in the following details...
SMTP server: mail.<YOUR-SITE-NAME>      --- please check this from your instructions
    Port: 587
Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Click the Require sign-in tick box.
User name: bob@domain-name-here.co.uk     --- Enter your own email address here.
    Password: ********
    Click Next

  7. Your Android based device will now check the email settings you've entered with the server

  8. Select the email checking frequency settings and change this to one hour or never. Your battery will run out quickly if you force an email check more often. Click Next.

  9. Fill in a name for the email account (this can be anything you like) and enter your own name (or company name) that you would like to appear on outgoing emails.

Note: Please bear in mind that it can take 24-48 hours for new domain name settings to filter through the Internet and nobody will be able to send emails to you until this has happened.
